what to do with scraped emails from cl?
I have a really good scraper that scrapes all but personals.
I have not been able to wrap my head around what people are doing with scrapping resume section. Anyone care to explain how to make money doing this?
I could see value in this if CL was a place that posted things that people are looking for, but its for selling things.
So if anyone can explain the methods to use a CL scraper, please chime in.
Thanks

Buiying and selling are almost the same, I sell products every day and on the other hand I buy also product once in a while. The most important thing is to send them emails, because CL will bann you if you send many emails from the same address. You have to create or but many email account.

Scraping resume section... emailing them with your own creation to entice them to submit their resume to xxxx site (which pays you for every resume submission) or emailing them "job" offers that pay (CPA or affiliate) you.

There are a few points to the mothod you missed out on.
First, scraping for plain text addresses is never accurate or worth your time.
If the person posting the add is not aware of addy scraping they will be within 3 hours of their post hitting the net.
IT professionals setup honeypots regularly as well to sniff out and block spam.
If you scrape plain text addresses keep in mind a few things:
The CL e-mail is not the same as the users e-mail.
When you send an e-mail using the CL system the failure rate will be very high.
The trick with this is to engage the real person in communication. If you get a valid response from a real person then add that e-mail addresses to your bulk mailing list.
From a legal standpoint this is not OK. You only have permission to contact the addresses on CL if your are responding to a service or add.
If, however, you posted an add and harvested e-mails that way, you are free to contact them as you see fit. It is generaly accepted that you give them a way to opt out of your list. If you intend to send bulk affiliate mails it is very important that you follow their guidelines.
If you need to flip your plain text addresses your best bet is going to be the freebies. Find a product/service that is free. Most shlubs fall for that.
If you are using CL to harvest email addresses from posted resumes it is a waste of time. It will always be worth it for you to create a real job posting in specific markets that have high unemployment rates in the tech industry.
Stay away from menial jobs/retail jobs. A migrant responding to a ditch digging add is not ever going to be worth your time when marketing. A young a+ certified technician recently out of work at a call center/data center will endlessly fill out and submit resume forms so long as you make them believe your a real head hunter.
Just remember that when it comes to emails you have two options. Malicious intent and Sales. I am assuming you are not after spreading a macro virus so we'll focus on the sales.
It is insane to think you could harvest e-mails from CL and just send out a spam every day and make a living. You can't. After you've done the scoring you'll notice that out of all your efforts the only gold you ever got came from those instances where you yourself were directly responsible for the sales action.
I would put it to all of you that you can make more money with 10 quality e-mail addresses than you ever can with a bulk trash list.
FYI I harvest e-mails with CL and other sites exclusively by posting real ads. I started a year ago and do date I have over 15,000 local and real e-mail addresses that I am legaly permited to contact. Of that I only ever bulk send 500 a day and on a really good day I get a 1% return.
That is an efficent use of time. It takes 2 hours a month. Instead of digging thru the left overs I saved up and went straight to the butcher, know what I mean?
You may or may not be comfortable with it but if you want quality black hat mails, join every uber christian mailing list you can. Those people read every last thing you send them!

Great Reply aliengeek.
Good to see you around these parts!
I think I am going to stear clear of CL.
Too much risk, too much competition, and I need to build a long term income.
Well its back to the drawing board my friends, and if anyone wants to get together and brainstorm and help each other, contact me.
I have a lot of time to get something started.
