Anyone still using this in their arsenal? Let your thoughts flow here, as I have thought in the past about offering a service related to it. I just can't afford to put time into it if there isn't a market for it.

Just setup one today, I plan on doing one or two hot trend topics per day via blogger.

Well - Google Trends are ridiculously hard to rank for for the basic keywords. To get any results you should spin the keywords first.

Google trends tend to be more difficult to monetize than normal sniper or amazon keywords! How does everyone monetize?

Google trends is about predicting the related long tails. For instance if trend was for "George clooney gay rape". Then all the noobs and boobettes will target that keyword exactly. However if you target keywords similar that people are searching you will have better success but you have to guess these as you wont have data.

Like:

"Did george enjoy the gay rape"
"Who has george clooney raped?"

For truly blackhat awesomeness, scrape/generate the content and cloak page to a CPA offer.
