Hi, new here, looks like a good informative forum
Today I downloaded the xrumer demo from their botmaster.net site. But when I tried to install the demo.exe file kaspersky intervened and prevented the software from installing.
When I look at the Kaspersky report for demo.exe it says this:
Trojan-Downloader.Win32.Pher.ari
Denied: KLPrivileges/KLSelfStart
Any advice?

Dont install any program or software until or unless you have scanned it before getting it download to oyur system.

This is a brand new Xrumer support site. Come take a look, if you have any questions or comment s please feel free to click the contact us link and send any questions. All support is currently free, but in the near future there will be a charge for the services.

there is no virus there (if you downloaded it from the original site, the cracked ones usually do have viruses), xrumer is not a new product, and it is used also by people who knows a thing or two in viruses and trojans (to spread them :) ). if you think there is something wrong, try it on virtual machine, like vmware, and you can try xrumer support too, i think they will explain you what's up with that

It's a false positive. Google it and you will see so. Scan it with a better AV and you'll get different reports.
Kaspersky would flag every software on your PC if it could. Use an AV with better heuristics like nod32.
PS. You shouldn't need to run the demo on a virtual machine.
